“Creativity is contagious, pass it on”
Albert Einstein
Art
By adopting a flexible approach to the delivery of art we aim to enable children of all abilities to enjoy success in the complete creative arts genre. We encourage our children to foster a love of art through varied and inspiring experiences within a stimulating learning environment that develops aesthetic awareness and encourages a positive attitude to art. We acknowledge the part that art plays in all other curriculum areas and aim to strike a balance between teacher directed input and opportunities to follow self-appointed paths of discovery.
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like, design is how it works.”
Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc.
Design Technology
At Blossomfield children are given opportunities to design a range of products in a safe environment. The design process is always supported by exploring existing products and having rich discussions. We ensure that children have the chance to work with and explore materials before the making stage so that they can develop an understanding of how the different materials can be combined to create different effects. Children are encouraged to think critically about work they have completed during the evaluation stage.
